Project Description

This project involved a complete redesign of the My APS intranet site for the Alberta Public Service (APS) that combined information from several, preexisting sources.

Design Challenges

The Alberta Public Service (APS) is a major employer in Alberta. Information for APS employees was scattered across several Government of Alberta websites, making it difficult for staff to locate news and information about their pensions, benefits and career opportunities.

Design Interventions

Working with the internal team at the APS, Trevor worked to:

  • catalogue the existing information across sites
  • usability test variations of new information architecture with APS employees
  • design wireframes for the basic page types
  • create visual designs for the basic page types

Outcomes

After the redesign and testing of the My APS intranet, the site was successfully launched, enabling easy access to employee information and services for over 30,000 APS employees.
